Lavinia A. Small papers, circa 1920-1950.

The Lavinia Small papers contain a wide variety of materials that Lavinia Small both collected and created, including poems, stories, newspaper articles, photographs, letters, postcards, and documents about child development and psychology. Lavinia was an avid writer; fragments, drafts and copies of her works can be found throughout the collection. Of particular interest are the letters that Lavinia exchanged with Queen Marie, which provide information on Romania and the royal family, the queen's time in the United States, and the political climate of the 1930s.
